Baby quilt making benefits Fleming County Sheriff’s Department

Fleming County Extension Homemaker’s projects bring so much comfort to those in need.

This July, the Baby Quilt Making Day project has benefited the Fleming County Sheriff’s Department with 20 baby quilts.

Come join the fun and learn how to make your first baby quilt. You do not need any existing sewing skills.

The public is always invited to join in the day, quilting and having a great time doing it. Lunch is provided with drink and dessert.

Our next Baby Quilt Making Day will be held on Thursday, August 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fleming County Cooperative Extension Office.

Sewing machines will be available or bring your own machine. No sewing talent is necessary to volunteer on this project, you can tack the layers together as the quilts are completed, sandwiching fabric/batting layers, etc. Donations of fabric and supplies are always welcome. This event is open to all.

The Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the opening of the nomination window for its highly anticipated Annual Awards. These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the Maysville-Mason County community. The nomination period begins Monday, July 31, and will run until Friday, August 4, giving community members the opportunity to recognize and honor those who have made a positive impact on our area. Winners for each category will be determined by the total scores from two panel reviews and online voting from the community. Winners will be announced at our Annual Dinner on September 14.
